Don’t really blame them it can’t be helped with each Audi RS4, BMW M3 or Mercedes AMG the cars get fatter, bigger and heavier and require more and more power to just to be fast in a straight line (which would be impressive it the world was straight). There is article in there somewhere but it requires testing.
